Shoplifter shot by police at Texas Walmart

Occurred December 22, 2013.

A reported shoplifter was approached by police in the parking lot of a Walmart store in San Antonio, Texas.  When the suspect tried to flee in his car, and hit a couple officers with his door, the officers opened fire, hitting the suspect in the arm.

From an article:
Police tell 1200 WOAI news the officers were in full uniform when a store employee pointed out a man who had been stealing from the store.  The officers spotted him in the parking lot and approached the car.

After a brief conversation, police say the man threw his car into gear and tried to speed away, injuring the two officers who were struck by the door of the man's car.

One of the officers pulled a gun and shot the suspect in the arm.  He was treated for wounds which were not life threatening and will face felony charges.

The two officers were not seriously hurt.  Officials say nobody in the parking lot of the busy store was in any danger.

They weren't in any danger, other than bullets flying and a car trying to speed away...

Walmart.  Save money.  Die faster.
